Young Organists' Competition 2022

The second SOA Young Organists' Competition is open for entries! More information about the competition can be found here. The deadline for entries is 2nd July 2022.

Huge thanks again to Viscount Organs Wales for generously sponsoring prizes and entries - many of which are free again this year - and to the Royal College of Organists for sponsoring the second prize.

The SOA is honoured that Sarah MacDonald, our first President, will adjudicate. Sarah is director of music at Selwyn College, Cambridge, and a strong advocate for young people in church music.

About the SOA

The School Organists' Association exists to support organists and organ teachers in schools in the UK. We began in early 2020 just before lockdown - and as our members adapted to the challenges of teaching online, preparing virtual voluntaries and accompaniments, and taking remote choir practices, we have kept in touch and shared our ideas, experiences and support.

If this sounds like something you should be part of, join us - go to our Membership page.

We are a very new organisation: watch out for much more information on this site, including details of events, teaching resources and the like.

If you want to know more, email the chair, Tim Morris, at chair@schoolorganists.org.
